Pauline Khoo, Senior Principal Physiotherapist

Pauline discovered her passion to pursue physiotherapy as a career after benefitting from physiotherapy when she was recuperating from her torn anterior cruciate ligament. She fueled her passion by pursuing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland under a Singapore General Hospital (SGH) scholarship.

Upon graduation, Pauline embarked upon her career in SGH and served in both the inpatient department – where she worked with the surgical, neurology, and orthopaedic teams – as well as the outpatient department – where she worked with the peripheral, spine and sports teams. On top of her main job scope as a physiotherapist, she also wrote articles for The Straits Times, Mind Your Body, and Singhealth Health Xchange. Her excellent service and precise clinical skills have garnered her several Singapore Health Quality Awards, as well as the Allied Health Division Service Excellence Award. She was also part of the Medical Team coverage for the Standard Chartered Marathon in 2015.

Pauline has had exposure to a wide range of practice areas – she went on various attachments with hospitals and other organisations such as the Football Association of Singapore, Singapore Heart Foundation, Singapore Sports Council and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. An avid sportsperson since her junior college days, Pauline is able to empathise and relate the concerns of a sports injury.

Believing that medical boundaries need to be challenged, Pauline constantly seeks to upgrade her skills and keep up to date with the latest techniques in the physiotherapy world. She has attended courses such as Dry Needling and is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. She also shares her passion and knowledge of the subject as a Clinical Adjunct Lecturer at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) for the physiotherapy degree program.
